Whether your symptoms affect your knees, hips or another joint, physiotherapy can help you improve strength, mobility and confidence.

Common Symptoms

  • Joint pain during or after activity

  • Stiffness after resting or first thing in the morning

  • Reduced movement or flexibility

  • Swelling, tenderness or weakness

  • Difficulty walking, using stairs or exercising

  • Clicking, grating or crackling sensations

How Physiotherapy May Help

Physiotherapy can help you manage osteoarthritis through a personalised exercise and activity plan.

Your programme will focus on improving strength, mobility and confidence while helping you stay active. You will also receive advice on pacing, flare-ups and progressing exercise safely.

What Happens During Treatment?

Your first session will assess your symptoms, movement, strength and the activities you find difficult.

You will receive a tailored exercise programme, advice on managing symptoms and guidance on building activity gradually. Hands-on treatment may also be used where appropriate.
